Abstract

Abstract—The Railways have the most intricate and involved interdependencies. More than 10 Million people use the railway services annually and it is one of the world's largest transportation used by most of the people. The railway is facing major challenges in its operation. The railroad is one of transient mode which has an important role in moving passengers and freights. It is more dangerous than other transportation accidents in severity and death rate etc. Braking system plays a major role in all kind of vehicles. Brakes are used to enable deceleration, control acceleration (downhill) and stop the vehicle within minimum possible time. This project is focused on an efficient braking system for improving the efficiency of the train. When the brake is applied in an engine, it takes at least 5 seconds to apply a brake in the last coach. Owing to this, when a sudden brake is applied, the train gets slipped from the rail. It can be avoided by applying the brake simultaneously to all the couches with the help of Radio frequency module and Arduino controller. When the brake is applied in the engine, the controller sends a signal to the RF transmitter. This signal will be received simultaneously by all RF receivers which makes all the coaches apply a brake at the same time.
