Abstract

This paper proposes a design for development of computational model for intelligent selection of telecom services meant for telecom customers. Computational model makes use of data mining and soft computing techniques in order to train the system for providing the services to the customers according to their past usage pattern. Historical call usage data of various customers was used to categorize them into five clusters referring to five different telecom service schemes using K-means clustering algorithm. Consequently, soft computing techniques such as neural network were implemented to train the system. Database from a specific city and a commonly used telecom service provider was taken.
