Abstract

This paper demonstrates a “wideband C-shaped circularly polarized monopole antenna”. A circularly polarized C-shaped antenna with a rectangle ground plane on the opposite side of the substrate is designed in this paper. The antenna consists of a radiating C-shaped monopole patch antenna which gives wide circular polarized band. On the opposite side of the substrate, a rectangle ground plane has been used in order to increase the impedance bandwidth as this create coupling between radiating patch and ground plane. The proposed antenna design yields a wide band impedance bandwidth (IBW) 3.58 GHz ranging from 1.4993–5.0825 GHz and center frequency is 3.29 GHz and impedance bandwidth is 109%. Furthermore, the simulated axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) is 485 MHz ranging from 4.155–4.640 GHz and center frequency is 4.3975 and ARBW is 11.029%. The radiation characteristic of the implemented antenna is also presented and discussed here.
