Design of 21 GHz CMOS Based Differential Class-C Power Amplifier with Balun Matching Network
Abstract
Nowadays, demand of portable devices is increasing day by day. One of the basic building blocks of RF transmitters is the power amplifier. The recent trend in the RF communication is to integrate the complete transceiver and the PA on a single chip. PA is preferred for boosting the power of the input and achieves large power at the output. Differential power amplifier is preferred over single stage due to better immunity to environmental noise and robust against the supply noise. The linearity can be improved by small input voltage swing, which leads to simple biasing for circuit. The power amplifier delivers the power added efficiency of 37.97 and the power gain of 28.79 dBm.
