Abstract

The Internet of Things (IOT) is modifying human lifestyles by linking day-to-day objects all together. Like, a Super Market contains all items together, establishing a smart shopping structure. In such an IOT structure, an low-priced RFID tag can be connected to each item which when kept into a smart shopping cart, can automatically read by a cart furnished with an RFID reader. Furthermore, this smart cart has robotic feature that changes as per the customer’s command. And billing can be done from the same shopping cart, stopping users from long queue at checkout point. Moreover, Smart shelving can add an extra feature into the system, prepared with RFID readers, and can observe stocks and will also update the central server. In addition, Inventory management becomes much easier which is another advantage of this system, as all products can be technically read by an RFID reader and specify whether the products have valid expiry date or not. Each and every information will be updated in the IOT website. To authenticate the practicability of such systems, we recognize the design necessities of a smart shopping system, then build a prototype model to test functionality and develop a safe communication decorum to make the system efficient and markable.
