Cyborgs: A Gateway to Enhanced Abilities

Suniti Chouhan, Abhishek Chouhan

Abstract

A cyborg short form "cybernetic organism”. Cyborgs were developed based on cybernetics that are half human beings and half robot beings. The scientific revolution  in this area has proved to be an advantage to humans. Internal or externally organ damaged people and disabled people can use any robotic aid for proper living. Indeed due to medical reason, there are currently millions of human beings across the world equipped with prosthetic devices to restore lost functions or to enhance current senses to “beyond normal” levels of performance. This direction will continue to accelerate as the body becomes transformed into an information processing technology, which basically will require one’s sense of identity and what it means to be human. This paper reviews on the future direction of cyborgs and the meaning and conclusion of becoming more cyborg and less human in an age of rapid advances in the design and use of computing technologies.
