Abstract

Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) is used for monitoring, collecting and analysing of data from remote locations. Water pollution is one of the biggest problems to the world due to industrialization. Water is an essential need and therefore there must be mechanisms to test the quality of water. This paper focuses on providing an IoT platform for analysing the data which is collected from sensors. Sensor data can be viewed on the Internet. Water quality index is calculated using weighted arithmetic index method. The parameters considered are pH, temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, total suspended solids. The main focus is to analyse the data and classify the quality of water as excellent, good, poor, very poor and unsuitable for drinking with the help of support vector machine algorithm. Results are displayed in the user interface which is developed using flask.
