Design of Thinned Triangular Fractal Antenna Array using Genetic Optimization Algorithm

Abstract


This research work mainly focused on the reduction of side lobe levels and minimizing the number of array elements of the triangular fractal array using evolutionary optimization technique. A thinned triangular fractal array for four successive iteration levels has been designed with and without using genetic optimization algorithm and the outputs of these two cases were compared. Owing to the evolutionary technique, nearly 50% of the thinning is achieved in all four iterations.
