Application-Quality Integral Regulator

G. Venkatesan

Abstract

Process control practitioners have made lots of contributions in the past half century to integrate statistical process control (SPC) and automatic/engineering process control (APC/EPC). The quality regulator uses integral regulator algorithm’, (given below), developed and based on research publications of Astrom, Box and Jenkins, technical literature available in technometrics journals, IEEE Transactions, Journals of Royal Statistical Society and Quality Technology etc. The Quality Integral Regulator optimizes variance of product quality variable through predictive and adaptive process control regulator algorithm. The quality integral regulator minimizes output quality variations due to process operating conditions. The regulator algorithm answers challenging demands of modern computer remotely controlled complex dynamic processes. It may not be possible to understand well the technical capacity of the existing controllers to extend their process control capabilities up to certain level and extent only. The quality integral regulator use provides practical solutions to such demands and meet the needs of the modern, process control industry for efficient quality control without depending on the existing SPC-APC process control method.
